Come and experience one of our meetings before deciding to become a member. Our meetings are held at Queen Alexandra Home Community Centre, Coorparoo (347 Old Cleveland Road) on the first Saturday of every even-numbered month. Meetings commence at 2:00 pm.

Subject: They will speak about the Centenary of the City of Greater Brisbane.
When the group was established, there was no historical society in the area, and it was time for one to be formed to collect information about the district. Since then, surveys of the streets have been conducted, older residents have been interviewed, and information on the types of houses has been collected.
The first public meeting of the group was held on 1 June 1991 at the Presbyterian Church, Emlyn St. Coorparoo. The first speaker was Mr. Laurie Jones, who spoke on the topic How to Date Your House.

Both suburbs were part of the Coorparoo Shire, created in 1875. The district continued to grow as Brisbane’s population increased rapidly and moved to outlying areas.

Brisbane Southside History Network
The Brisbane Southside History Network (BSHN) was formed on 28 September 2013.
It is the organisation and meeting place for the purpose of the common history for all history and environmental groups within the area of the Brisbane Southside, and to provide a public-private business interface for the network of history groups and professional historians on the Brisbane Southside.
It is formed as a network of local history and environmental groups.
